# About Awesome Android Root

Awesome Android Root is a community-maintained directory of Android root apps, modules, rooting guides, and related tools. Its goal is to make useful projects and practical instructions easier to find.

## What the project covers

## Getting started

If you plan to root, first check that your exact device variant can be unlocked and read the preparation and safety guidance in the [rooting guide](./rooting-guides/). Then choose a method and use the matching device instructions. Custom recovery and custom ROM installation are separate, optional paths; see the [recovery guide](./rooting-guides/how-to-install-custom-recovery.md) and [ROM guide](./rooting-guides/custom-rom-installation.md) when relevant.
